Cause of Presbyopia
Presbyopia is caused as the natural lens inside the eye, which is meant to change its shape and provide clear near vision is unable to do so effectively due to gradual thickening and loss of flexibility. As a result, near vision becomes blurred.
Signs and Symptoms of Presbyopia
When one becomes presbyope, he/she has to either hold the smartphone and other objects and reading material (books, magazines, menus, labels, etc.) farther from the eyes to see them more clearly. Unfortunately, when one moves things farther from the eyes they get smaller in size, so this is only a temporary and partially successful solution to presbyopia. In addition, presbyopes become more sensitive to light, while bright light aids in reading.
Even if one can still see pretty well up close, presbyopia can cause headaches, eye strain and visual fatigue, blurred vision etc. This makes reading and other near vision tasks less comfortable and more tiring.
Presbyopia Correction
There are various ways to correct Presbyopia. It can be corrected with the help of Eyeglasses, contact lenses or Refractive surgery. Eyeglasses are the most popular method of Presbyopia correction.
