RES/REI had always been driven by the pursuit of 'uniqueness,' never letting fashion trends govern their choices. It was important to understand that technology itself was not enough to make quality frames; the human touch was necessary. It was the people who designed and manufactured, step by step, the frames that made this possible. Each pair of glasses was the result of know-how passed from one generation to another, year after year.
Mazzucchelli Acetate was the main material they used to manufacture their frames. Acetate, compared to plastic, was much more sophisticated and made from natural sources. In fact, the manufacturing process for acetate started from a cotton flock.
