The Desktop Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure across corporate offices and retail stores. This role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, configuring IT equipment, and supporting users with their technical needs. Additionally, the Desktop Engineer plays a key role in asset management, procurement, and maintaining IT records to ensure operational efficiency.
Job Description
- Providing technical support to corporate users and retail stores, covering both hardware and software issues
- Diagnosing and resolving network-related problems
- Assisting with audio-video conferencing setups and troubleshooting
- Installing and configuring IP telephony systems
- Setting up and maintaining network printers and scanners
- Supporting mobile devices (Android & iOS)
- Managing procurement processes by working with vendors to source and acquire optimal IT equipment
- Maintaining and updating IT asset records as a CMDB Operator, ensuring accurate tracking
PROFILE
- Should have a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in IT or any other related stream
- Must have 4-5 years of relevant experience
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS & Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) software.
- Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, wireless networks and VPN technologies.
- Proficiency in handling PC’s, mobile devices, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
- Experience in IT asset management and procurement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Capability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently.
